... This topic depresses me. It depresses me so much.
*runs away, sobbing*
I STILL LOVE YOU, FIRESTAR!! TT_TT
All right. Now, long comment coming up.
My Favorite Characters:- Jayfeather {though my obsession with him has dimmed down a bit}
- Firestar {I just keep loving him more and more!}
- Graystripe {^_^}
- Tallstar {TALLYYYYYY}
- Cinderpelt/heart
- Silverstream
- Brambleclaw
- Scourge
Least Favorite Characters:- Daisy {FKDLSJFLJSDLKF}
- Millie {NO COMMENT}
- Ashfur {>:}
- Hollyleaf {she... bugs me}
- Sol {XD see my signature}
- Leopardstar {WHY DOESN'T SHE JUST DIE ALREADY!?}
- Berrynose {bastard}
- Onestar {I miss fun little Onewhisker TT_TT}
Now, I'm going to be Firestar's defense and shoot down all arguments as to why people hate him. ^_^ Because I love him that much. *hugs Firestar*
All right, bold are the arguments, regular are my counterarguments.- He's too much of a Mary Sue. Pay attention to how he acts in Sunrise (or whatever the last book of the Power of Three is called... I can't remember.) I don't know how that is Mary Suish in any way...
- He's too strict. ... Um, he's a leader? I don't think he's any more strict than Leopardstar is...
- He gets angry too much -- he keeps yelling at cats. He did that in Rising Storm, but I'm pretty sure no one hated him for that. Remember, he's under a lot of pressure. We just don't know because we're not seeing it from his perspective.
- He's too soft. ... Yes, because killing Scourge despite his immense fear is really soft. As well as declaring war against Onestar. And keeping his Clan in line.

i, blackee, have some pretty good defenses backing up the frequently argued statements.
you see, there's a time in every multi-characterized series when good characters... go flat. firestar, yes, love, to me has gone flat. like the soda you leave out for a day with the lid open, or don't screw the lid on tight enough when you actually put it back in the fridge.
like sandstorm, she went flat. though, i didn't much like her to begin with.
now, a mary sue, you say? well then! i think he was most of the time, because not only does a mary sue personality focus in on overly idealized and hackneyed mannerisms, it also has to do with lacking noteworthy flaws. the erins, yes, they favored firestar too much and that is why he's a mary sue. having flaws doesn't mean a character isn't a mary sue, your character can have too many flaws, or be too zoomed in on and overthought of. so, matter of fact, because firestar is indeed a MALE, he's a gary sue, guys. get it right. maybe he wasn't so gary suish in the last book, but that doesn't contradict the other two series, mind you, and the other five books of the power of three.
i agree with the rest of your stuff, but i'm pretty dead on about him being a gary sue. it doesn't mean i dun like him, it's just, *shrugs* as it is.

We've definitely got nothing in common. Firestar and Scourge? Seriously? Firepaw was great. But he just just kept getting worse and worse until I couldn't stand him. Not too mention you like Tallstar, Brambleclaw and Silverstream. Disliking Leopardstar is fine, but you crossed the line by disliking Millie. What could anyone possibly have against her? I don't see any flaws.
Um, any cat would've killed Scourge! Soft or not soft! Spottedleaf, Leafpool, and any other soft cats! Whether they feared him or not! In Forest of Secrets he fed RiverClan during the flood, and then he stopped the battle with WindClan in A Dangerous Path, shall I go on? And notice how everybody asks him for help? For example, in Dawn Blackstar went to him for help when twolegs destroyed his camp.
And him not being strict is why I hate him. It's his kittypet blood, I swear. He left too late.

bluey, those deeds were done for the safety of all four clans. firestar helped riverclan because they were starving, and for one, as a shadowclan obsessor, blackstar came to firestar because he had no other choice. one, in dawn, it was do or die. all of the clans were in need of help. it's not that firestar was too soft, it was because he was most understanding. if a cat isn't evil and murderous, he's suddenly too soft? where have all the good souls gone? :/

Actually, the term is technically "Gary Stu," but whenever I say that term nobody knows what it means. So, I said Mary Sue instead.
He had a few flaws. He always worried and over-thought everything. He's too emotionally pulled toward other cats (this has lead him to sacrifice cats in order to find his daughter, Leafpaw, and to also beat himself up over Graystripe being taken away by Twolegs). He tends to do the right things -- but in the wrong ways, which is lack of good judgment. He also makes his Clan appear weak because he always likes to side with peace rather than fighting, which is a weakness in itself. There are more, but I don't feel like listing them.
Yes, he has seemed to have gone rather flat, but that's because we don't see it from his perspective. We have no idea what he does apart from what the Three have seen him do. We have no idea what he thinks except for the small tidbits we get from Jayfeather, which, I might add, are not flat thoughts at all.
His followers didn't (and they only allied up with him out of fear and a need for protection), and quite a few kittypets didn't, and quite a few loners and rogues didn't, and his brother and sister didn't, and the cats he killed didn't. (And I'm absolutely certain quite a few of the Clan cats purposely avoided Scourge during the battle with him. We can't say this for certain because it was through Firestar's perspective, but really, do you expect every cat in the whole damn forest to face Scourge after he just stripped a leader of all nine of his lives?)
I agree with what Smallz said on the too soft note.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

How do you know RiverClan couldn't have survived on their own? And Blackstar didn't go to WindClan or RiverClan, he went to ThunderClan. That's why I like RiverClan. They're not evil or soft.
You're supposed to protect your clan with your life.

i disagree entirely, bluey. riverclan isolates itself from the other clans, and personally, i think it's because of their need for perfection. think of highschool. thunderclan would be the kind, considerate clique, and then riverclan would be the plastics. they're arrogant, selfish, and their leader is a bitch. >.> as i said BEFORE, blackstar, thank you very much but i already know just about everything there is to know about him, he went to firestar because firestar was the most UNDERSTANDING. leopardstar is a bitch, again, and tallstar doesn't like shadowclan.
as a leader, you do what's best for your clan. or you all die. protecting with your life doesn't apply to that situation, the twolegs were destroying everything. you need to get a recap on what went on, i swear. >< if the clan leaders just sat there and ate their words and were pompous bastards, there would be no clans, and there would be no new series coming out, nor the last one. jesus.
anyway, we're killing white's thread. xD hope she likes the nice debate going on about firestar...

Leopardstar is not a bitch. And Tallstar didn't like Brokenstar. Do you realize your talking to the person who read the warriors series twice?
I can't think of high school because I didn't even go to kindergarden.

i've read the warriors series more than twice, darling. and saying that leopardstar is a bitch is a totally opinionated statement, unlike you, i have proof to back it up! >:3 don't put your foot in your mouth, because not going to kindergarten just tells me so much. >.>

Considering I don't know what Grade School is like, there's no way I'd know what High School is like.
