... OF THE MONTH!

All right, so on occasion, Gray and I will host a few of the Months. I'm sure you're familiar with these on other sites, but just in case, you're supposed to nominate a certain something that gets listed in the side tables and famed on the site for a month period.

Here are the "of the Month"s available for this site:

• Member of the Month - Means REGULAR members. Of course, the all popular "member of the month" -- this determines the member that has been the most active, most contributive, etc toward the site. In order to get this position, just be nice and helpful (and active, of course)!
  
• Staff Member of the Month - We want to know exactly who you prefer among the staff, who you think is doing his or her job correctly, etc. This is the section where you vote for particular staff members.
  
• Original Character of the Month - An original character is basically a character that does not come from the books. This is the character people like, whether it's because it is creative or otherwise.
  
• Canon Character of the Month - Original character of the month's counterpart, but with the characters that clearly come from the books. You may vote because of the person's interpretation of the character, or because of the character itself.
  
• Couple of the Month - Ahahaha, the favorite of most people -- the couple of the month! This is basically the couple that most people like. Maybe it's because it's adorable, or maybe it's because it's sexy -- whatever the reason, people like it!
  
• Thread of the Month - And of course, last but not least, the thread of the month is basically the thread that is the most fun to read and goes on the longest, etc. People can vote which thread they like the best (and it's not illegal to vote for your own thread so long as you and a mod are not the only ones posting in it).

Here is the procedure for the typical of the Month:

• First, we put up certain categories that fit within the given categories, and we then allow members to nominate any characters for a certain category. A character can't be nominated more than once, and if the character won that particular poll in the last month, he or she cannot be nominated for that category in the next month (but he or she can in the month after the next month). This is so we know which characters members are willing to vote for.
  
• Once all of the nominees are determined, we make a poll of each of the categories. People will then vote for the nominees for the rest of the month, and the character with the most votes in the category is the winner.
  
• In the month the people are voting for, the winner is announced by tallying up how many categories the character has won. After that, the character gets a spot in our sidetables, and we celebrate in one thread about all of the winners of all of the of the Months.
